Video: Trump hints at resuming Iran war

United States President Donald Trump has said the United States “may have to do a little cleanup work” in Iran after a month-long ceasefire in the 2026 conflict.
In an interview, Trump claimed Iran’s armed forces have been “wiped out essentially” and asserting continued U.S. control over regional shipping lanes.
Speaking aboard Air Force One after a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump framed the ceasefire as something granted at the request of other nations and suggested Washington could maintain an effective naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz without outside assistance.
“Because we had a little month-long ceasefire,” he said, adding that U.S. forces might need to carry out limited follow-up operations to secure the gains.
