Cubana Chief Priest, popular businessman and socialite, has said he is on the verge of buying into a club in the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).

Chief Prist in a statement shared on his IG on Tuesday pledged to use the move to support young talent, restore the league’s standing, and build a lasting legacy.

“I’m at the verge of buying into a football club in our Nigeria league. I’m doing this to support football talents & also uphold the glory of Nigerian football league.

“I promise you we will be winning the league cuz we never loose. Yes we are gonna make money but we will make more memories & create amazing opportunities for the younger generation & above all leave a legacy. Wait for it,” he wrote on IG.

Cubana Chief Priest known for his high-profile lifestyle, hospitality investments, and outspoken support for Nigerian culture — framed the potential acquisition as driven by development goals rather than profit alone.

He said the investment will prioritise talent development, provide pathways for young players, and rekindle public interest in domestic football.

The NPFL has faced challenges including irregular funding, stadium standards, and player retention in foreign leagues.
