President of NASFAT, Ayodeji Abdulrauf, has extended warm Eid al-Adha greetings calling for prayer, charity, and solidarity amid global and domestic challenges.

In a statement made available on Tuesday, Abdulrauf said, “On behalf of the stakeholders and members of NASFAT, I extend warm greetings to Nigerian Muslims and Muslims around the world on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. May this sacred celebration bring peace, blessings, and renewed faith to all.”

He described Eid al-Adha as “a season of prayer, reflection, sacrifice, and gratitude,” noting NASFAT’s charitable efforts, “In the spirit of generosity and compassion, NASFAT has distributed numerous rams and cash gifts to various communities within and outside Nigeria.”

Abdulrauf also highlighted the group’s Hajj services, saying NASFAT’s travel arm “has continued to distinguish itself as a reliable reference point in providing quality Hajj and Umrah services for Muslims.”

Pointing to the global scale of this year’s pilgrimage, he observed that “more than two million Muslims from different parts of the world are participating in the sacred Hajj pilgrimage,” and prayed that Allah grant pilgrims “Hajj Mabroor and safe return to their respective homes.”

Abdulrauf connected the faith observance to broader social responsibilities, reminding readers that the celebrations “remind humanity of equality before Almighty Allah and the enduring importance of charity, community service, and compassion.”

He praised Nigerian Muslims’ contributions to national development across sectors including medicine, technology, education, public service, commerce, and the arts.

Acknowledging difficult conditions at home and abroad, the NASFAT president said this year’s Eid comes “at a particularly difficult period for many Nigerians due to persistent insecurity, kidnappings, killings, communal attacks, and widespread economic hardship.”

He also expressed concern for civilians affected by conflicts in “Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine, Iran, and other troubled regions,” and condemned the loss of life and displacement resulting from war.

NASFAT reaffirmed its commitment to peace and humanitarian action: “NASFAT remains committed to advocating for peace, dialogue, humanitarian assistance, and the protection of human dignity across the globe. We support every genuine effort aimed at securing peace, the release of hostages, and the pursuit of lasting solutions to conflicts, particularly in Palestine and Israel.”

The statement extended solidarity to persecuted Muslim communities, naming “the Rohingya in Myanmar and the Uyghurs in the People’s Republic of China,” and urged renewed commitment to “compassion, empathy, tolerance, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence.”

Abdulrauf closed with a message to returning pilgrims and the wider Muslim community, “To all Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, I wish you a blessed, peaceful, and meaningful Eid celebration. Eid Mubarak.”
