Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has revealed why sparking an internal revolution in Iran remains challenging, pointing to the regime’s extensive security apparatus.

He claimed that one in every 100 Iranians works for the secret police, creating a formidable barrier to dissent.

The comment came when the interviewer pressed Netanyahu on why Israeli operatives haven’t done more to incite a popular uprising.

“Why can’t they also set in motion a revolution that could topple the regime, your operatives?” the interviewer asked.

“Because you need many things,” Netanyahu replied.

“You not only need to attack leadership, there’s still a lot of people. One out of 100 Iranians is in secret police and as they show they’re quite ready just to butcher their people so.”

With Iran’s population hovering around 90 million, Netanyahu’s figure suggests roughly 900,000 individuals embedded in the security forces, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Basij paramilitaries.

He argued this pervasive network and the regime’s willingness to use brutal force make toppling the government far more complex than targeting its leaders alone.
