Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has rejected any notion of submission to adversaries while clarifying that potential negotiations stem from strength, not weakness.
In a statement on Sunday, Pezeshkian said, “We will never bow our heads before the enemy, and if talk of dialogue or negotiation arises, it does not mean surrender or retreat. Rather, the goal is to uphold the rights of the Iranian nation and to defend national interests with resolute strength.”
The remarks underscore Tehran’s unyielding posture as tensions escalate in the Persian Gulf this year.
U.S. naval operations have reportedly provoked Iranian responses, exposing asymmetric naval and missile capabilities, followed by strikes on coastal infrastructure.
Pezeshkian emphasised that any diplomatic overtures would prioritize Iran’s sovereignty, amid ongoing regional frictions.
