Iran holds onto about 70% of its pre-war missile arsenal, including ballistic missiles and a smaller stock of cruise missiles, following intense US-Israeli airstrikes in the ongoing 2026 Middle East conflict, according to a New York Times report citing US intelligence assessments.
The analysis highlights that Iran maintains access to roughly 90% of its missile production and storage sites, with most underground facilities remaining partially or fully operational.
This starkly contrasts claims from the Trump administration, which asserted the strikes caused major degradation to Iran’s capabilities.
